iOS 14.2 Mutely Update
Keeping in mind the ease of video call quality. iPhone
update the iOS 14.2 facetime to 1080p to support iPhone 8, launched in the
2017. According to their blog, the video quality of 1080p on iPhone8, not just
enabled on this cell phone but in all handset of this series and newer.
We are calling this modification ‘’Mutely Update’’, as
in the public release of additional features or bug fixes about a month ago,
they didn’t mention this major upgrade. While it was a big upgrade with many
bug fixes and speed changes, the company did not note anywhere that it is also
adding support for iPhone 8 and all newer versions for 1080p FaceTime calls. Since
iOS 14.2 was released, the modifications to the pages were made within a week. From
then on, Apple secretly updated the call standard.
The updates can also be found in
the iPhone review tool from Apple, where, relative to older ones, it now lists
"FaceTime HD (1080p) over Wi-Fi". This covers the iPhone 8,
iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone
11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and the upcoming iPhone SE for 2020.
Iphone12 FaceTime over 5G
In the case of the iPhone 12
series, that's a little different. You will take advantage of the higher data
rates to make 1080p FaceTime video calls over the cellular 5G network, as the
iPhone 12 quartet comes with 5G support. However, it remains to be seen how good
the experience turns out on the iPhone 12 Micro, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and
the iPhone 12 Pro Max over 5G bandwidth.
